HOLLADAY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) Unified Police Department has confirmed that Officer Doug Barney, who was shot this morning in an incident near Holladay, has passed away. Another officer remains hospitalized.
A police pursuit began after a car struck a pole in the area of 4500 S 2100 E. Two suspects, a male and a female, evaded officers.
The male suspect involved was shot and is confirmed dead. He has been identified as Corey Henderson. Henderson had an extensive criminal history and was sought by local, federal and metro gang units.
The female suspect is still at large.
Officer Barney was a veteran of the police force and served for 18 years. He was a husband and the father of three children.

A female suspect is at large. She is described as having blonde hair and is wearing a green shirt.
Officers have dispatched K-9 units and are actively searching for the female suspect. They are advising homeowners in the area to stay inside until their search is complete.
The two officers who were shot have been transported to a local hospital. One is in critical condition, the other is stable.
