WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – Police confirm one person is dead in West Valley City Tuesday night.
West Valley City police say 911 dispatchers received a call about a vehicle theft in progress in the area of 5050 W. Royal Ann Dr.
Police say the call came in around 6:10 PM from someone saying a truck was stealing a trailer.
While taking information, the dispatcher lost connection with the caller. When officers responded to the location they found a “badly injured, unconscious man.”
Police discovered the body about three blocks from the auto theft call lying in the middle of the road.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud “bang,” however West Valley Police are not confirming whether that sound was the sound of gun shots and they say there is no indication that a gun was involved.
They say the mans body suffered severe trauma but are waiting for an examination from the medical examiners office to determine the exact cause of death.
Police are trying to determine the relationship between this person and the man found dead in the road.
Several hours later, the suspect vehicle, a 2000 Dodge pick up truck with a silver toolbox in the back with license plate C403K and a white “Wells Cargo” trailer was recovered in separate locations.
Overnight West Valley Police announced significant developments in the case. Police were able to recover the white Dodge pickup truck and the stolen trailer, both were found in separate locations.
Late Wednesday morning police announced they have arrested two people. Police are still looking for one more person.
