PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – Now in its 35th year, the Stadium of Fire, held its biggest fireworks show ever!
The largest, loudest, patriotic party that Utah has seen is underway, as thousands packed into Lavell Edwards Stadium for the Stadium of Fire, all part of the America Freedom Festival in Provo.
Bands pumped up the crowd as red, white and blue showered the stadium. In anticipation of the main event headlined by Journey, and 10-year-old Haley Dalton couldn’t have been more excited.
“Are they your favorite band?” I asked.
To which she replied, “Yea!”
Though she was too nervous to sing me a Journey tune, like many here she was excited for the celebrations.
“What are you looking forward to the most besides Journey?” I asked. “With a silent pause she said, “Uhm…the fireworks!”
The festival honors, the brave men and women who proudly serve our country, for them this festival is a reminder of why they serve.
“Know what it’s like to be American again, to be in a free country and because of many of my brothers and sisters and people in service,” said Richard Washington, Parachute Recruiter, Second Class.
And as the crowd settled into their seats, to watch one of the most magnificent displays of pyrotechnics in the country. This vet had a message to all his fellow men and women in uniform.
“To all my brothers and sisters out there keep on winning the fight for us.”
